ASIMELEC brings together the leaders of the ICT sector until Thursday in La Granja
Top executives from the main companies in the sector, professors, and senior representatives of the Public Administration will meet at the Seminar "Digital Convergence. The Digital Society in the Development of the Sustainable Economy", which is part of the VI Edition of the Summer Courses of the Polytechnic University of Madrid in La Granja (Segovia).
ASIMELEC will bring together its main actors in the second edition of its summer seminar, which will be held from July 19 to 22 at the Granja de San Ildefonso Congress and Convention Center (Segovia). Top executives from the main companies in the sector, professors, and senior representatives of the Public Administration will meet at the Seminar "Digital Convergence. The Digital Society in the Development of the Sustainable Economy", which is part of the VI Edition of the Summer Courses of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
The course, which has the collaboration of the Prisa group, is structured into four days, each one dedicated to a current issue: 'The economic value of ICT', 'Digital content', 'Internet of the future' and 'Green ICT', which will be the thematic axes of the conferences and debate tables, led by a large group of professionals.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Martín Pérez, president of ASIMELEC, and the UPM professor, Jorge Pérez. Among the speakers invited to the first day, José Antonio Zufiría, president of IBM Spain, stands out; José Antonio de Paz, president of HP Spain; José Petisco, general director of CISCO; Jacinto Cavestany, CEO of BT Spain, or Enrique Barón Crespo, former president of the European Parliament. Representatives from Telefónica, Vodafone, Google, Tuenti, Abertis, Ferrovial, Iberdrola, Prisacom, Promusicae, or Filmotech, among others, will participate in different presentations and debates.
The course will also feature speakers from the Administration such as Ángel García Castillejo and Antoni Elías Fuste, both counselors of the CMT; Bernardo Lorenzo, general director of Telecommunications of the SETSI, or María Jesús Rodríguez de Sancho, general director of Quality and Environmental Assessment of the Ministry of the Environment.
The management of the course will be in charge of a UPM-ASIMELEC working group, coordinated by Martín Pérez, president of the Employers' Association, and Jorge Pérez, professor at the ETSIT-UPM, as directors of the course, together with José Pérez, general director of ASIMELEC, and Raúl Cabanes, professor at the ETSIT-UPM.
