Transmedia narrative: fans take “ownership” of the content
The Internet offers multiple possibilities for producers of audiovisual content beyond the mere distribution of videos. On the one hand, in an evolution of the 360º model, it allows the development of much more complex products by offering different scenarios on multiple platforms for the telling of the same story. On the other hand, it allows independent authors, normally outside the commercial circuits, to have spaces to promote and expose their work to the public.

On the other hand, it allows independent authors, normally outside the commercial circuits, to have spaces to promote and expose their work to the public.
In both cases, the key to the business is the fans, who thanks to the Internet are organized into communities of fans who recommend, share their knowledge and discoveries, and support the works through payments and donations. In this round table organized at FICOD 2010, new models of content distribution, transmedia, ARG, crowdfunding and independent cinema were discussed with the leading actors of these trends.
Efe Cakarel, Founder and CEO of Mubi, participated in this table; Massimo Martinotti, president of Mia Films; Juan Carlos Tous de la Prada, founder of Comunidad Filmin; Nils Hellberg, development leader at Vodo; Ignacio Gómez, deputy director of Entertainment Content at RTVE.es and Slava Rubin, CEO and Co-founder at IndieGoGo. The debate has been moderated by Gonzalo Martín, audiovisual media consultant.
