On November 25th and 26th, Sgo In collaboration with several companies in the sector, it is organizing a Workshop at the Madrid Film School focused on stereoscopy that addresses everything from filming to finishing.

The stereoscopic revolution has been possible thanks to innovations in terms of the complete digitalization of the process, from the optics of the camera to that of the movie theater projector. In this workshop each of the processes in the stereoscopic workflow is being verified with real tests of each step.

Throughout the morning of this Thursday, a set has been set up in which all the conditions that a stereoscopic filming implies have been put to the test, highlighting actions that are carried out such as the production of dailies. For this, the advanced technology of two Mistika Live from Sgo is being used. From these systems, the adjustments are being carried out on the filming set itself, subsequently moving on to Mistika for the color grading and finishing of all the 3D material.

The material has been collected in 4:2:2 (MPEG 4 at 50 Mbps for each camera) and later reshaped against the original files to 4:4:4 in post-production. This process, worked on the basis of Mistika Live, speeds up and gives maximum flexibility to the production of dailies, a very important issue if we take into account that many directors are still not very familiar with the 3D process so they want to see the material shot as quickly as possible.

Along with the RED Mysterium Sony PMW-EX3 as well as with the Grass Valley LDK-8000.

On the morning of Friday the 26th, the filming from the previous day will be overturned and the entire post-production process will be carried out until finishing and projection on the big screen with the help of a Christie projector.
