SGT buys Vivesta
Starting from a highly complementary product offering, the French SGT has acquired Vivesta, a company from the Netherlands specialized in comprehensive workflow solutions for television, VoD, IPTV and mobile TV. SGT is committed to further developing both companies' two main product lines, Veda and MediaFlow.
SGT has just acquired all the shares of Vivesta, a company located in the Netherlands and specialized in comprehensive workflow solutions for television, VoD, IPTV and mobile TV.
Following this operation, SGT has confirmed that it will continue to focus on the MediaFlow product line for Media Asset Management, playout automation and video on demand solutions, developing and supporting this area.
Guillaume d'Azemar de Fabrègues, president of SGT, has assured that "the integration of both companies is a strategic adjustment that will mean new opportunities for accelerated growth. By combining the efficiency and skills of the two teams, our technical know-how, product lines and local and regional market, we will reach a much broader set of clients. SGT's main strategic direction in the coming years is the combination of TV, IPTV, and video on demand technologies, which will open enormous opportunities."
According to SGT, the two product suites are highly complementary. As for SGT's Veda software for workflow automation, it is a solution for linear and non-linear video content management (MAM) and broadcast automation. Veda is based on Microsoft technology and is primarily aimed at high-end markets.
Regarding MediaFlow, Vivesta offers broadcast automation, media asset management and business management for TV and VOD channels. MediaFlow is based on Linux and open source technologies (LAMP) targeting medium and high-range markets.
To ensure investment protection for customers of both companies, both product lines will continue to be developed and supported.
