New call for the MEDIA Mundus 2012 Program
Within the framework of the MEDIA Program calls, a new Mundus 2012 call has just been published with the aim of supporting training, market access, distribution and other transversal activities.
As part of the dissemination of the MEDIA Program calls, a new Mundus 2012 call has just been published. The objectives of the program are to increase the competitiveness of the European audiovisual industry, allow Europe to play its cultural and political role in the world more effectively and increase consumer choice and cultural diversity.
The program also aims to improve access to third country markets and to create a level of trust and lasting working relationships.
The actions are directed along four lines:
- Action 1 – Support for training: this action aims to strengthen the qualifications of European and third-country professionals. Option 1 supports the inclusion of students/professionals and teachers from non-EU countries in initial or continuing training plans supported by the MEDIA 2007 programme. Option 2 supports the creation of a specific continuing training plan for MEDIA Mundus.
- Action 2 – Support for market access: this action supports projects to promote access of audiovisual works to international markets. These projects refer to the development and/or pre-production phases (for example, international co-production markets) and subsequent activities (acts to facilitate international sales of the works).
- Action 3 – Support for distribution and circulation: this action aims to promote the distribution, promotion, screening and dissemination of European works in third country markets and of audiovisual works from third countries in Europe under optimal conditions.
- Action 4 – Transversal activities: this action aims to support transversal projects, that is, those that refer to several priorities of this program, for example, training actions with the subsequent acts of searching for partners (pitching) in co-production meetings.
The call is open to legally constituted companies located in one of the areas of action of this program, with the deadline for submitting proposals closing on September 23, 2011.
