Polecam will debut a motorized head at IBC
At IBC 2011, Polecam will present a new addition to its range of cranes with a single operator for DSLR cameras or camcorders up to 3.6 kilos.
Polecam will present at IBC 2011 a new addition to its range of cranes with a single operator. The new motorized head is designed to accommodate digital single-lens reflex cameras or video cameras up to 200 mm (width), 280 mm (height) and 3.6 kilograms in weight. Additionally, it is fully compatible with popular Polecam systems up to 6 meters.
Steffan Hewitt, founder of Polecam, highlighted that with this new solution “the pan and tilt angle can be adjusted easily or continuously over a wide range of speeds, from an ultra-slow four seconds per degree up to seven seconds per full 360 degree turn.”
It should be noted that the slip-rings can be used to supply power to the camera and export composite video to a monitor. This provides the ability to record unlimited horizontal panoramas without having tangled cables.
Using a joystick, the speed of both horizontal and vertical movement is controlled with “U” acceleration and deceleration. This provides ultra-sensitive control at all times.
“Polecam permite hacer travellings de una precisión sin precedentes para lograr al mismo tiempo mantener el control de gran alcance sobre la posición de cámara horizontal y vertical gracias a nuestro sistema. La cabeza está diseñada para estar en funcionamiento como parte integral del sistema de Polecam en el que un operador puede hacerse con el control a los pocos minutos de llegar al lugar de rodaje”, ha añadido Jeremy Curtis, Sales & Marketing Manager.
The new Polecam heads incorporate a new joystick control system that has replaced the brand's previous bipolar system, increasing sensitivity and response speed. Pulse optical encoders installed on the pan and tilt motors provide information to the motor controller, ensuring smooth and stable operation.
