Polecam Microwhite, LED lighting for miniature cameras

Polecam lanzará al mercado Microwhite LED, una innovadora luminaria con 20 LEDs distribuidos en anillo especialmente concebida para Polecam o cámaras broadcast, SD o HD, en miniatura.

Polecam presentará con motivo del Broadcast Video Expo 2010 que tendrá lugar en Londres a mediados de febrero una interesante luminaria pensada especialmente para minicámaras broadcast tanto SD como HD. El nuevo sistema consiste en un anillo compuesto por veinte emisores de luz blanca alojados en un cuerpor Delrin negro que se inserta en una lente Fujinon compacta a través de la cabeza Polecam FFFS o con otras cámaras a través de un soporte de montaje.

Polecam founder Steffan Hewitt has highlighted that this system "being only slightly wider than the lens, the LED ring provides light exactly where it is needed. It is ideal for use as a powerful dimmable main light source in close-ups and as a soft fill light to reduce shadow in medium shots. Powered directly from the Polecam DC power supply, the Microwhite LED retains all the portability and mobility for which the Polecam system is renowned."

Polecam is a British company founded in 1998 by extreme sports director and cameraman Steffan Hewitt. The idea arose from a series of spots he carried out in Hawaii starring windsurfers for whom he improvised a platform that included a miniature camera on a carbon fiber mast. After returning to the UK, he added a remote control lever to the system to precisely control the pan and tilt head. This is how Polecam emerged, an innovative company based in Bedford, England, known worldwide for its interesting and unique developments.
