Pilat Media launches the new IBMS OmniCast system for non-linear cross-platform management
It will allow you to administer and manage non-linear services such as video on demand (VOD), over-the-top (OTT) TV and catch-up TV in a sophisticated multi-platform.
Media Pilate will launch at IBC 2011 IBMS OmniCast. The latest version of its Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS), IBMS OmniCast is a back-end system that will allow media companies to administer and manage on a sophisticated multi-platform non-linear services such as video on demand (VOD), over-the-top (OTT) TV and catch-up TV.
Combining efficient planning and scheduling with powerful business management and analysis tools, IBMS OmniCast represents new opportunities for content owners and distributors to get the most out of their assets on any type of on-demand platform.
Avi Engel, CEO of Pilat Media, noted that "as viewer demand for non-linear services continues to increase, media companies can no longer rely on VOD services without proper planning. But today non-linear systems were not designed to cope with the complexity of operations resulting from a large amount of content, services, and platforms. Therefore, the new IBMS OmniCast responds to the double challenge of differentiation and scalability by allowing media professionals to manage efficiently multiple services, and sophisticated VOD for different diverse platforms in a single, centralized system.”
IBMS OmniCast includes many advanced features to handle the complex schedules of nonlinear services. Through the IBMS metadata repository, the operator can import the details of any content to be programmed, including the corresponding rights (if necessary) for each platform. Catalogs from massive asset libraries can thus be automatically compiled through interfaces with external metadata systems, streamlining the entire process. A module channels all the material, serving as an integration for the preparation of all the enriched material in each service.
Among other possibilities, on-demand planning and management is included associating content and promos, while a module facilitates access to data and reports for operational and business analysis with feed back throughout the entire process.
