Atos launches a new system for monitoring and geolocation of small satellites (VSAT)
Atos SkyMon ILS VSAT is a fully integrated solution to monitor, identify and geolocate interference caused by VSAT networks.
Atos launches its new system monitoring and geolocation for satellites that can detect, locate and mitigate interference from an increasing number of small satellites (Very Small Aperture Terminal – VSAT).
The system Atos SkyMon ILS (Interference Localization System) VSAT, formerly known as SIECAMS, is the latest innovation after Atos' recent acquisition of Siemens Convergence Creators (CVC), which has provided reinforced capabilities in the space market.
Thousands of small satellites will be launched into low Earth orbit (LEO) in the coming years, making interference detection and localization increasingly important.
Atos SkyMon ILS VSAT is a fully integrated solution for monitor, identify and geolocate interference caused by VSAT networks.
SkyMon ILS VSAT provides the overview of the identified VSAT networks, including all active terminals and cross-pole and adjacent satellite interference monitoring for each active terminal. It also shows the geographical location of VSAT terminals on a map and the classification of the VSAT network. Automatically identifies TDMA carriers and demodulating TDMA carriers and lists terminal identifiers causing interference.
Atos SkyMon ILS VSAT is part of a comprehensive software package that includes SkyMon ILS (interference locating system that works with two adjacent satellites); SkyMon ILS ONE (world's first satellite geolocation system); SkyMon TIS (terrestrial interference scanner to identify and locate interference caused by land mobile communications networks); and SkyMon CID (DVB-Carrier-ID).
