Ericsson in London
Ericson will supply EBU members and other rights holders who will distribute signals over satellite and fiber in MPPEG-2 in SD and MPEG-4 AVC 04:02:02 in HD with nearly a thousand RX8200 professional receivers.
Ericsson will collaborate with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU/EBU) to bring the London 2012 Olympic Games to a power audience of almost five billion viewers. To this end, it will supply the members of the EBU and other rights holders who will distribute signals over satellite and fiber in MPEG-2 in SD and MPEG-4 AVC 04:02:02 in HD with nearly a thousand RX8200 professional receivers.
This Ericson solution has already been used in other major sporting events such as the 2008 Beijing Games, the Tour de France, Wimbledon and various football championships in Europe.
The EBU has a global network of satellites and fiber networks that from Geneva, Switzerland, covers all of Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.
Broadcasters require a flexible receiver platform, so the Ericsson RX8200 advanced modular receiver meets precisely these requirements.
