La propuesta tecnológica TDTcom ha sido desarrollada por Abertis Telecom siguiendo el estándar europeo HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband Television). Este estándar fue lanzado en 2009 por el consorcio HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast-Broadband TV), del que forma parte Abertis Telecom, y está dirigido al desarrollo de un entorno en el que convivan los contenidos audiovisuales propios de la TDT (Televisión Digital Terrestre), y los contenidos Web, favoreciendo la interacción del espectador y el acceso a contenidos bajo demanda mediante su distribución en Internet.

TDTCOM permite la recepción doméstica en un televisor conectado, o mediante decodificador, de los contenidos creados por los radiodifusores para el entorno Internet, con otras funcionalidades añadidas como recepción bajo demanda, elección de horarios y programación o televisión a la carta, sin perturbar la recepción de la programación TDT habitual.
