Pedro Pérez, re-elected president of FAPAE
The re-elected president of the Federation of Producers, Pedro Pérez, has presented to the Board of Directors the lines on which he will work in the next four years as head of the association of Spanish audiovisual producers.
The Board of Directors of FAP (Federation of Associations of Spanish Audiovisual Producers) held this Thursday at the Film Academy, has re-elected Pedro Pérez Fernández de la Puente as its president. This election occurs after the four years established by the Statutes of the Federation for each presidency.
Pedro Pérez has been confirmed in his fourth term, he has been since 2003, as President of the Audiovisual Producers' Association - a position he previously held in 1996 - with the support of the 13 Associations (territorial and sectoral) that make up FAPAE and that represent more than 400 production companies.
The President of the Federation has presented to the Board of Directors the lines on which to work in the next four years as head of the employers' association of Spanish audiovisual producers; Given the political, economic and structural changes in the Spanish audiovisual sector, it has raised the need to work on facilitating liquidity for production companies, seeking alternatives to current financing and access to credit and guarantees. He has also highlighted the need to continue acting against piracy with the development of the Sustainable Economy Law and with support for the creation of a Spanish online platform that allows access to the legal offer to all users. He highlighted the necessary coordination of the different Institutions with powers in the Spanish audiovisual sector and the support for the internationalization of the Spanish audiovisual product, among others.
Furthermore, in this new mandate, Pedro Pérez has highlighted the need, at the internal level of FAPAE, to promote internal communication and work, in collaboration, with the rest of the sectors. The President of FAPAE has confirmed to the Board of Directors that appointed him that, in the coming months, new Associations will join the Federation that expand and complete the representativeness of the Federation at the sectoral and territorial level.
Pedro Pérez Fernández de la Puente has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid and, throughout his professional career, he has been CEO of Creative Associates of Radio and Television (CARTEL), member of the Executive Committee of PROCINE, Founding Director of the newspaper El Mundo and of the Ibero-American Market of the Audiovisual Industry (MIDIA), in which he held the first presidency. He was the first President of Vía Digital, a position he held from February 14, 1997 to December 1999, and which he combined with that of Corporate General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations of Telefónica between January and September 1999. He later held the position of Director of Antena 3 Tv.
