Abertis Telecom, telecommunications infrastructure operator of the Abertis group, will participate for the seventh consecutive year in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012, which will take place in Barcelona from February 27 to March 1.

In this year's edition, which will be held under the motto “Redefining Mobile”, the company will deploy the digital network to carry out demonstrations of DMB Mobile TV and DAB digital radio and its technological evolution, DAB+. Through these demonstrations, with the collaboration of the British broadcaster BBC, which will provide content broadcast live, the viability of the DAB and DMB standards for the transmission of digital radio and mobile TV, and their reception on mobile media (smartphones and tablets) will be verified.

During this event, Abertis Telecom will also present its developments aimed at communications for security and emergency forces through mobile media and will demonstrate the platforms it has developed in the Smart Cities field, such as the first Smart Zone in Spain and the Barcelona Ciutat Intel-ligent project.

Connected television

Regarding connected television, Abertis will demonstrate at WMC 2012 its OTT (over the top) solution for multi-screen television in the cloud, which provides all the necessary services for the “end-to-end” management of online content to operators, broadcasters and content providers.
