DVS updates two of its star products: Venice and Clipster
Venice will now be available in a 2 RU chassis (reducing its size by 50%) with support for numerous file formats and encoding. For its part, version 5.0 of the Clipster real-time editing system incorporates improvements for 3D, film and video.
At NAB 2012 we will be able to check the possibilities offered by the Venice server of DVS now available in a 2 RU chassis (thus reducing its size by 50%) and with support for numerous file formats and encoding.
Venice now supports formats such as GFX and codecs such as H.264 AVC, thus being able to more easily integrate content, such as footage, into different workflows.
Its new transwrapping engine as well as the editing of metadata for files or the ingestion of signals allows it to expand its possibilities as a broadcast server.
Another advantage to highlight is its ability to read while writing with full interaction with Avid systems.
In its 2 RUs, Venice offers space for up to 9 TB of internal storage and up to four video channels.
Equipped with ten Gigabit Ethernet and USB ports, Venice is designed for faster data processing and transfer rates.
On the other hand, the new Venice is easy to maintain and specially designed for use in mobility.
The flexibility of Venice is evident in tasks such as ingest, transcoding or playout, since they can be freely structured and processed automatically. Combined with DVS Spycer management software, Venice allows users to streamline and accelerate their workflows with metadata editing features. Now, it will be possible to easily customize P2 or XDCAM material metadata attributes in the ingest itself, streamlining workflows.
The combination of the DVS broadcast server with Spycer management software has proven to be highly effective in media environments that require rapid response. Spycer allows easy access to both Avid ISIS storage and Interplay production management.
Clipster version 5.0
At NAB 2012, we will also be able to see version 5.0 of the real-time editing system for 3D, film and video, Clipster.
In Las Vegas DVS will demonstrate a sophisticated 3D workflow based on STAN (Stereoscopic Analyzer) software, now integrated into Clipster. The STAN algorithm analyzes and corrects 3D material geometrically, including corrections of fundamental segments, making it easier to work with stereoscopic material.
In conjunction with the Digital Cinema Mastering Tool, Clipster supports mezzanine files such as IMF, providing the digital master as a file package with different video, audio, subtitle tracks...
For working environments with RAW material from cameras such as RED, ARRI or Sony, Clipster hardware guarantees massive flexibility, high security and speed. Clipster also supports formats such as Panasonic AVC-Ultra, Sony SR, Apple ProRes 422 and Avid DNxHD, and is capable of reading and writing OpenEXR.
