The Mexican Cablemás expands its IP services with the help of Conax, Evolution Digital and Cubiware
The strategic cooperation with Conax, Evolution Digital LLC and Cubiware will allow the second largest cable operator in Mexico to enter new IP services.
Cablemás, the second cable operator in Mexico with 1.2 million subscribers, has closed an agreement with Conax, Evolution Digital and Cubiware to help revolutionize its growth and penetration in the digital television market by providing advanced services to consumers throughout Mexico.
In 2010, Cablemás had signed an agreement with Conax to provide the conditional access system, with the company Evolucion Digital LLC being in charge of providing the receivers. Now, Cablemás expands its digital services with IPTV and trusts these companies again.
For a future-oriented pay-TV platform, the partners will provide an enhanced ecosystem with an advanced content security solution from Conax, hybrid DVB-IP set-top boxes from Evolution and middleware from Cubiware.
Cablemás continues to grow its subscriber base through a solutions approach for a quality product offering and customization, both in packaging and user interface. The operator is offering the consumer a different experience and vision.
With the need for greater security in its Video-on-Demand offering, in addition to differentiation between the offering in the market, Conax and Evolution Digital have partnered with Cubiware to offer Cablemás a video on demand platform using bit rate adaptation technology, to maximize bandwidth efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The partnership has allowed Cablemás to reduce illegal production and distribution, and increase revenue through premium VOD content – while continuing to add new triple play features and value-added solutions.
