New award for Explora Films at the 2012 TAC Festival in the USA.
'El Señor de Sipán', the documentary by José Manuel Novoa co-produced by El Deseo, has won the audience award at The Archeology Channel Festival, in Oregon (USA).
The Lord of Sipán, the most ambitious documentary film production on archeology made in Spain that deals with the discovery of the tomb of a Moche ruler found in 1987 in northern Peru, has won the audience award at the TAC festival in Oregon (USA).
The Archeology Channel International Film and Video Festival is a documentary film festival specialized in the archaeological genre organized by the thematic channel The Archeology Channel. Its ninth edition took place recently at The Shedd Institute, in Eugene, Oregon, USA. More than 25 titles from countries such as the US, Australia, China, Canada, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, among others, participated. Explora Films was the only Spanish production company in the official selection. It also became the favorite film for viewers, winning the audience award.
The Lord of Sipán is a documentary blockbuster by Explora Films and El Deseo for RTVE. This award joins a long history of awards at festivals such as the Bidasoa Archaeological Film Festival, the Ronda International Film and Heritage Festival or the Brussels Archaeological Film Festival.
José Manuel Novoa, a filmmaker with more than 150 documentaries behind him, has established himself as one of the most recognized and awarded directors of the genre internationally. He is currently finishing his latest documentary, The Lady of Cao It is in the post-production phase and hopes to see the light of day at the end of next June.
