HP introduces innovative hybrid PC and new touchscreen Ultrabooks

It marks the announcement of the first HP products with Microsoft Windows 8. It highlights three new laptops with multi-touch displays, including a completely unique hybrid PC design that offers users a new option for accessing information.

The HP ENVY x2 is a powerful, ultra-thin hybrid PC that unites the advantages of two devices in one. A laptop that can function as a tablet, the detachable screen becomes a full tablet when detached from the keyboard via a magnetic closure. Customers no longer have to choose between a product that allows them to create content and another with which they can enjoy all the entertainment at any time, they can have both on a single device.

Meanwhile, the HP SpectreXT TouchSmart Ultrabook and HP ENVY TouchSmart 4 provide intuitive touch capabilities to ultraportable computers.

These computers are the first HP products announced with Microsoft Windows 8; More laptops, desktops and tablets will be announced before the end of 2012.

HP ENVY x2

The HP ENVY x2 solves the dilemma “Should I carry the laptop or the tablet?”, and thanks to this new device, consumers have the power of a laptop and the freedom of a tablet in a single elegant and light device.

With an aluminum finish and an innovative hinge with magnets that allows you to dock the tablet with the keyboard, the HP ENVY x2 weighs just 1.4 kg. When separated, the tablet weighs just 0.71 kg.

Customers can interact directly with the touch interface optimized for Windows 8 with the 11.6" high-definition multi-touch display of the HP ENVY back to capture high-quality photos and videos.

The HP ENVY x2 integrates Beats Audio technology to deliver the best audio experience available on a PC. It also includes an optional stylus that gives customers the freedom to write, draw and navigate with additional precision.

The HP ENVY x2 also allows you to share and stay in touch with friends and family immediately and easily. The new HP Connected Photo app seamlessly syncs photos across multiple devices and offers basic editing options and capabilities to instantly share those contents via social networks. The HP ENVY x2 uses solid-state memory to provide greater reliability and faster startup.

It should be noted that the new device incorporates Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, thanks to which users can share content, including photos, contacts and URLs, with a simple touch.

Ultrabook HP Spectre XT TouchSmart

With Windows 8, the HP TouchSmart experience expands beyond the desktop to deliver multi-touch technology on laptops.

With a 15.6” Radiance Full HD touch screen with IPS technology, the HP TouchSmart SpectreXT Ultrabook offers high performance and the ability to provide an optimized touch experience that goes beyond that provided by the keyboard and mouse.

With a thickness of 17.9 mm and a weight of 2.16 kg(1), this premium Ultrabook stands out for its sophisticated metal and glass design, a soft-touch base for greater comfort and better grip, glass touchpad and speakers with Beats Audio for optimal sound.

The HP SpectreXT TouchSmart Ultrabook is HP's first laptop with Intel Thunderbolt technology that allows ultra-fast transfer of music, movies and data to external devices. Additionally, HP USB Boost technology charges devices through USB ports whether the Ultrabook is connected or not.

This computer offers great performance with the latest Intel Core processors, an mSATA solid state drive with Intel Rapid Start, Intel Identity Protection technology, Intel Anti-Theft technology, Intel Smart Response and Intel Smart Connect technologies; as well as a wide range of ports, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and HDMI.

The Ultrabook also features exclusive HP innovations such as HP CoolSense, HP Imagepad, which provides precise multi-touch navigation, and the HP TrueVision HD webcam, which delivers clearer, sharper high-definition images; in addition to applications such as HP Photo Connected.

The HP SpectreXT TouchSmart Ultrabook includes full versions of entertainment and security software and a technical support line dedicated exclusively to HP Specter customers.
It also features full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 that provide powerful video and photo editing capabilities.

To protect sensitive data and eliminate cyber threats, the laptop is preloaded with one year of Absolute Data Protect, two years of Norton Internet Security, and Intel Anti-Theft for remote data protection.

The Ultrabook also includes 90 days of HP SmartFriend Setup Service, which offers support and help to customers by answering questions to set up Wi-Fi, remove viruses, use new software or back up files.

Ultrabook HP ENVY TouchSmart 4

With an attractive design and metallic finish, the HP ENVY TouchSmart 4 Ultrabook has a 14" high-definition multi-touch screen, measuring 23 mm thick and weighing 2.16 kg. In addition, it has a backlit keyboard with up to 8 hours of battery life and a subwoofer with Beats Audio.

This new Ultrabook delivers powerful performance with the latest Intel processors, solid-state drive, and the same Intel technologies available in the HP SpectreXT TouchSmart. HP innovations such as HP CoolSense, HP Imagepad, HP ProtectSmart, HP TrueVision HD Webcam and HP Connected Photo are also included.
