Ignite, based on technology originally developed by ParkerVision, has helped revolutionize television news production, allowing a single operator to launch an entire news program.

Ignite, based on technology originally developed by ParkerVision, has helped revolutionize television news production, allowing a single operator to launch an entire news program. The first broadcast with this solution then called PVTV News was a broadcast by News 12 Bronx, in New York on June 22, 1998. After the acquisition of Grass Valley in 2004, the second generation system, named Ignite includes an integrated Grass Valley mixer system and robotic cameras that have helped numerous local broadcasters create more news programs, and improving the consistency and quality of the broadcast on air, while reducing technical errors.

"The Ignite system was key to this new way of producing a live newscast gaining market share, becoming an essential component of many newsrooms with automated control. By disrupting the economic model and delivering more content with a production team of just one or two operators, Ignite allows broadcasters with a smaller budget to do more with less. The technology continues to be a key component in Grass Valley's strategy in developing non-linear production techniques, by automating control rooms, improving efficiency and ensuring coherence, while increasing content production across all genres of live production,” said Alex Holtz, lead developer at PVTV News and Ignite Systems and current senior director at Grass Valley.

Hasta la fecha, Grass Valley ha vendido más de 200 sistemas en todo el mundo.
