Google's innovative glasses for augmented reality, ready for launch in 2014

The innovative glasses will have a 'bone conduction' audio system, which would dispense with headphones, and a virtual keyboard that the user could project onto the user's hand or arm.

Surrounded by a great mystery, the augmented reality glasses that Google is developing are, today more than ever, something tangible. The American regulatory body FCC already has a prototype for study and approval, with access to the technical specifications of the device.

Although very little information has been released, we already know that they will have a wireless connection (wi-fi 802.11b/g 2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0.

A very innovative element will be its audio system that, through 'bone conduction', will allow sounds to be received through sound waves in contact with the skull. In theory, this advance could mean doing without headphones.

Another patent filed with the FCC is a virtual keyboard that the glasses would be able to project onto the arm or hand, although this does not mean that this technology is already present in this first version.

Until now, only a group of developers had access to Google Glasses. Google co-founder Sergey Brin was recently seen on the subway testing this innovative technological bet in the field.
