Announces at IBC that TRACAB, its image-based tracking system, has been chosen as one of the presenting technologies for the Sports Performance Platform, a Microsoft project in development.

ChyronHego presents at IBC a new integration of its Silver robotic camera head with the RoboRail straight camera rail system from Mo-Sys Engineering. Together, the two companies' products form a complete solution for lag-free camera tracking of advanced augmented reality (AR) graphics and virtual set in news programs.

RoboRailSilver is part of ChyronHego's family of augmented reality/virtual studio tracking solutions that enable precise real-time camera movement within 2D or 3D computer-generated backgrounds. The intelligence integrated into the robotic heads gives them such precision that they can predict and anticipate camera movements, enabling the Zero-Delay function that cancels audiovisual delays. Installed on the compact and affordable RoboRail or mounted vertically or horizontally on a wall, ceiling, floor or even on the presenter's table, the camera rail system allows filmmakers to easily energize their news programs with visually appealing augmented reality graphics.

Using Camio Universe's graphics workflow templates, filmmakers can easily generate augmented reality graphics with Krypton, ChyronHego's virtual set and graphics creation and playout solution. MOS interfaces, connected to the newsroom's IT systems, allow ChyronHego's CAMIO graphics asset management server to output augmented reality and virtual set graphics in a perfectly coordinated manner, along with the correct assets and camera movements.

TRACAB and Microsoft

ChyronHego announced at IBC that TRACAB, its image-based tracking system, has been chosen as one of the presenting technologies for the Sports Performance Platform, a Microsoft project in development. Announced earlier this year during the Hashtag Sports conference, Sports Performance Platform is a cloud-based sports analytics platform that provides professional sports teams, leagues and federations with a solution to help both athletes and teams make better decisions, faster and based on more complete data. It is a platform created by Microsoft to enable predictive analysis in the sports industry.

TRACAB uses advanced optical tracking and image processing technologies to determine the position of all moving objects on the field of play, including players, referees, assistant referees and the ball. The result is a real-time data feed containing the X, Y, and Z position coordinates of each identified object. The data can be streamed in an open format to a multitude of display platforms, such as television graphics systems and online or mobile platforms, and can also be used to prepare complete sets of performance statistics for sports analysts.
