Shotoku will exhibit its new Gemini Pan Bar Control System at NAB 2013
Shotoku's new camera remote control system connects video, audio and data between remote locations and networks.
Shotoku Broadcast Systems will present its new Gemini Pan Bar Control System (PBCS) solution for the first time at a fair in a collaborative environment with the Stagebox of BBC R&D, a powerful pattern-based solution for connecting video, audio and data between remote premises and standard networks.
Additionally, at NAB 2013 Shotoku will showcase other technologies such as the improved version of the popular TR-T, its touch-sensitive control system, and the SPI-Touch positioning calibration method for virtual studios.
Gemini Pan Bar is a remote control system for cameras that offers easy operation for live events and other difficult-to-access situations, where cameras are necessary but could hardly be operated by personnel.
Paired with Stagebox, the system allows multiple cameras to be remotely controlled over standard communication networks in live productions, such as sporting events, resulting in improved flexibility and financial savings.
Stagebox, in turn, uses free patterns to enable high definition in multi-camera productions to connect equipment and moving content in real time. The small equipment unit transforms audio, video, time and remote control signals so that, starting from cameras over a network based on IP packets, it is possible to streamline production logistics and work flows in the field.
Production teams can use low-cost mixers over traditional SDI connections, with full camera operation, including robotic data controller over a simple CAT6 cable. The Shotoku system thus offers an alternative for the precise and natural control of a manual pan/tilt head.
