Xenon FF-Prime lenses from Schneider-Kreuznach

Schneider Optics has launched a new family of lenses specially designed for digital cinematography with HDSLRs with full frame sensors and other professional cameras.

Made in Germany, the new Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon FF-Prime Lenses will initially be sold in 35mm format. T2.1, 50mm. T2.1 and 75mm. T2.1. All will be available for Nikon F, Canon EOS or with PL mount. Shortly, it will add a wide angle and several telephoto lenses to its catalogue.

The new full-frame lenses are designed to work with 4K resolutions (4096 x 2304 pixels). They cover the full 45 millimeter image circle, which is used by the Canon 5D Mark III and Nikon D800 cameras.
Each lens weighs 1.5 kilos, is compact and has an aperture of 14 circular blades and is specially designed for smooth and consistent bokeh.

The precision focus of each lens minimizes the effects of professional breathing. And, with a 300-degree rotation, the manual focus markings offer great precision.

These new lenses will be on the market in the second half of 2013.
