Liberty plans to divest Chellomedia

Liberty Global would have put Chellomedia, its division dedicated to the production and distribution of television channels, up for sale. This operation, according to publication The Wall Street Journal It could be valued between 800 and 1,000 million dollars.

Liberty Global, headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, has numerous broadband networks in numerous countries, while Chellomedia reaches 390 million homes around the world with its channels.

John Malone, president of Liberty, could be considering the possibility of divesting Chellomedia in whole or in part.

Chellomedia operates in Eastern Europe, Latin America and other parts of the world, with strong growth potential as it owns 48 of the 68 channels it distributes. Chellomedia's revenue last year was $514 million, which represents a small percentage of the $10 billion in revenue that the cable network business brought to Liberty Global.
