RAI invests in the first Harman Studer Vista 9 digital consoles
The control of the Italian public broadcaster at the La Scalla theater in Milan and several RAI studios in Rome update their facilities with the Studer digital console.
The Italian RAI has received its first consoles Harman Studer Vista 9 from distributor Leading Technologies (LT). One of these consoles will be used for the stable control that RAI has in the La Scalla theater in Milan, replacing the previous Vista 8 in the recording of operas and classical music concerts for radio and television.
The console has been configured for 64 onstage mics, plus Line and AES inputs/outputs for local effects and machines, as well as two MADI interfaces for multitrack recorders.
Two other consoles have been installed in the RAI Auditorium, along with a Vista Compact Remote Bay to work in parallel. Replacing the previous console, the new consoles will be broadcast for live broadcasting or recording of classical music.
Metric
One of the main features of the View 9, which were critical to RAI's purchasing decision, is the TFT metric and history mode, which records events and overloads in the audio pattern for each channel by highlighting them in red on the waveform. This way, operators can review incidents on each channel up to 30 seconds after they occur.
In the Roman RAI facilities we can now also find a View 9 for the radio production of live music, talk shows and dramatic spaces. Later this year, a similar studio will also update its main console with Studer.
Además de estas cuatro Vista 9, la RAI cuenta con dos Vista 7y uns Vista 5 (para radio), así como dos Vista 8 y tres Vista 5 para transmisión de televisión.
