Absolute Radio collects the best sound of British bands with PreSonus StudioLive

Absolute Radio has just added a PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 digital console for its mobile installation for both FOH and recording.

From its roots as Virgin Radio in the mid-1990s to its name change in 2008, Absolute Radio has been a beacon of light for rock lovers in the UK. Absolute has spawned a network of spinoff stations that have become a pillar of the British rock community, sponsoring concerts and events and airing live concert recordings.

Recently Absolute Radio has just incorporated a digital console PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 for mobile installation.

Dean Woodcock, Director of Broadcast Technology and IT at the station, said: "Absolute Radio is recording more and more sessions outside of our main studios in Soho, often in the more unique locations where a PA is not necessarily part of the setup. We needed a solution that was compact and portable, full-featured, and that we could multi-task as a FOH unit, as well as look after our recording for broadcast. StudioLive was the solution. From a live point of view it can handle both FOH and monitors and offers a range of I/O and processing options, when handling multitrack recording, so, with a single click, capture everything from the same unit.”
