DTS, together with its technology partners, will demonstrate at IBC 2011 a differentiated, high-quality surround sound service over any bandwidth in the new connected ecosystems.

DTS will show for the first time at IBC 2011 its audio technology for IPTV broadcast services. Professionals who come to its stand in Amsterdam will be able to attend demonstrations of surround sound for broadcast networks with DTS partners such as Ateme, Ericson, Free, Intel and ST Microelectronics.

Ted Laverty, director of business development at DTS, highlighted that “as the audiovisual landscape evolves, DTS continues to expand its presence in the growing connected ecosystem to offer consumers the best possible audio experience, regardless of the delivery platform.”

"Audiences expect high-definition picture to be accompanied by high-definition sound. That's why DTS has entered into strategic agreements to deliver exciting and satisfying sound quality on any of the four screens: television, PC/Mac, vehicle and mobile devices," added Laverty.

The DTS proposals go from end to end, covering IPTV operator services with DTS Digital Surround processing, integration with Ateme's coding and decoding technology with DTS 5.1 and Neural Surround Sound technologies, network distribution with Ericson hardware to integrate DTS 5.1 in broadcast headers and sending the encoded content throughout the entire network until it reaches the set-top box. Regarding Intel and ST Microelectronics chipsets in conjunction with DTS technology, they allow accelerated audio capabilities for media playback in IPTV environments.

All of these strategic agreements allow the delivery of digital content like never before, offering a differentiated service and high-quality sound over any bandwidth. By automatically adapting to platform and bandwidth, DTS enables audio delivery tailored to the end user's hardware capabilities.
