But Violet-Designs lives not only on “classics”. One of his most appreciated inventions is the Flamingo ME, a valve condenser microphone, which integrates a capsule with a somewhat strange shape. The shape, reminiscent of the human pinna, determines the absence of reflections and resonances typical of circular capsules and provides the microphone with a much more full-bodied and defined response at the same time.

In the ME (Magic Ear) everything has been thought out in detail. Around the capsule, the grille has been optimized for greater transparency and much less interference in the path of the sound to be captured. In addition, this Flamingo combines a damping system in the capsule assembly, with a damping in the microphone head and the elastic suspension that supports the entire microphone. The valve's Class A circuit is built with the best components available and the 6267 valve is carefully selected and tested. The Flamingo ME presents impressive values ​​of background noise and dynamics, which is helped by the sophisticated power supply that does not allow the microphone to emit a signal until all its parameters are stabilized. All this information is provided to us by a sequential process of color change in the LED.
