Abertis demonstrates the potential of hybrid television under the HbbTv standard

Abertis carries out a workshop at Broadcast IT Experience in which the advantages of hybrid television under the HbbTv v1 and v1.5 standard have become clear.

Abertis Telecom has demonstrated in a workshop at Broadcast IT Experience the possibilities offered by hybrid television under the HbbTv standard.

Xavier Redón, Product Manager of Abertis Telecom, explained the advantages that hybrid television offers in aspects such as the broadcast of synchronized content and integration with a second screen. From an advertising point of view, HbbTv opens up a whole world of possibilities yet to be explored.

In this workshop, some technical concepts of Hybrid DTT and HbbTV in their versions of HbbTV v1 and v1.5 have been shared, demonstrating MPEG DASH adaptive streaming, content protection through DRM, user measurement and device certification.

For this demonstration, a Transport Stream has been used with signals from the Canary Islands and Andalusia, LaSexta and GolTv.
