Abertis takes control of Hispasat by acquiring 57% of its capital
This operation that is now concluding began at the end of last July and has involved a disbursement of 172.5 million euros.
This Tuesday, Abertis closed the purchase of 16.42% of the satellite operator Hispasat from the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), attached to the Ministry of Defense. This operation, announced at the end of last July, has involved a disbursement of 172.5 million euros.
Following the final execution of the sale and purchase of the Hispasat shares owned by INTA by Abertis, the general meeting of the satellite operator has accepted the resignation of the two directors representing INTA and has agreed to the appointment of eight new directors, in addition to the current ones. These appointments occur in execution of the agreements reached between Hispasat shareholders on July 25.
The new additional directors who have been appointed are the following: at the proposal of Abertis, Josep María Coronas Guinart, Sergio Tórtola Pérez, Pedro Papell Capilla, José Manuel Aisa Mancho and Javier Martí de Veses Estades have been appointed; at the proposal of Eutelsat, to Almudena Arpón de Mendívil y Aldama; at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (CDTI), to Juan Carlos Cortés Pulido; and at the proposal of the Ministry of Defense, Miguel Ángel Panduro Panadero.
