Dolby and Cinesa present the cinema of the future in La Maquinista

Cinesa La Maquinista, in Barcelona, ​​the first public theater in the world to have a quad digital projector that allows Dolby 3D playback in 4K and High Frame Rate (HFR) format together with a Dolby Atmos sound system.

Dolby Laboratories and the cinemas Cinesa have announced today a collaboration that will allow new generation cinema to be offered to the public at Cinesa La Maquinista in Barcelona.

Cinesa La Maquinista thus becomes the first public cinema in the world that allows you to enjoy some of the most advanced audio and image technologies in cinema, such as the first commercial installation of a quad digital projector that allows playing Dolby 3D in 4K and High Frame Rate (HFR) format together with a Dolby Atmos sound system, in a new auditorium (room 13) designed to offer a premium experience to all seats in the theater.

The premium seats in this theater have been optimally positioned to offer viewers the greatest possible comfort and the best viewing angles of the enormous 20-meter-long panoramic screen. The Dolby Atmos sound system fits perfectly with the auditorium's acoustic design to provide the best audio experience to every seat in the room. Dolby Atmos unlocks the potential of sound in storytelling by allowing directors to easily place or move specific sounds anywhere in the room, even from the ceiling, precisely, enhancing the realism and impact of every scene. Cinesa and Dolby have equipped the room with the latest innovations in imaging, such as the most powerful projector configuration on the market today. The system uses four high-brightness projectors to render a brighter, more natural 3D image on the big screen. In addition, this system allows you to play content in 4K and HFR. Combining high-brightness Dolby 3D with HFR playback reduces flickering, motion blur, and on-screen jerkiness for a more realistic picture and further enhances the movie-going experience.

La sala equipada con Dolby del Cinesa La Maquinista celebrará su gran inauguración el viernes 13 de diciembre de 2013 con el estreno de la película de Warner Bros. El hobbit: La desolación de Smaug presentada en Dolby Atmos, Dolby 3D y HFR.
