LG Electronics presents its new Smart TV platform these days at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Acquired from HP In March of last year, webOS has now been redesigned by LG as its new smart TV platform.
LG's new smart television offers a much more intuitive user interface, based on the experience acquired in recent years by webOS. In addition, the platform allows developers to create applications more quickly and flexibly, while expanding the compatibility of LG Smart TVs with other devices.
LG's proposal presents three functions to highlight: simple connection, simple switching and simple discovery.
The simple connection seeks to make the device easy to configure for users by showing an animated character that guides the user when the device is turned on.
For its part, the simple switching option allows you to quickly switch from one application to another among those recently used. Simple discovery would be related to the use of voice commands and gestures.
LG has also created an app marketplace with offerings including Twitter, Netflix, Hulu PLus, Amazon Instant Video and Vudu.
The webOS TV would be launched first in Korea, to be gradually launched in Europe, the United States and the rest of the world. LG expects its implementation to take place in 70% of the company's Smart TVs this year.
