Yamaha has presented the renewed MG series of compact mixing consoles. With a flexible and wide range of ten models of tables completely redesigned and suitable for both portable applications and fixed installations, the strengths of the new MG tables are their sound quality, their reliability and their high level of performance, all qualities that have made this series a reference in the industry.
With five standard models (ranging from 6 to 20 inputs) and five models with built-in SPX effects processors, the new series offers the versatility needed to meet the demands of the most diverse mixing applications.
All models feature advanced D-PRE Class A discrete microphone preamplifiers, featuring inverted Darlington circuit technology. These studio-quality preamps, also found in Yamaha's high-end professional consoles, provide more power with a lower impedance, meeting the expectations of even the most demanding sound engineers. D-PRE preamplifiers are characterized by their natural and full-bodied bass, richly timbral mids and intense but smooth highs, and very low distortion. These preamps have an impressively wide frequency range, allowing them to handle signals from any audio source without coloring them.
Optimal compression
Models with ten or more inputs are equipped with an improved single-knob compressor, making it easy to apply optimal compression to a variety of input signals using a single control.
Yamaha has redesigned each model in the new series to enhance its durability, incorporating practical aspects that increase its resistance to the conditions and risks that a table has to live with. The chassis structure has been reinforced by making it stronger and powder coated, and the controls have been located above the surface of the chassis to prevent the internal components from absorbing any impact or pressure exerted on the controls. Based on feedback from Yamaha customers around the world, all models with 12 or more channels incorporate a universal internal power supply, providing greater reliability.
