Korea Telecom lanza LTE broadcast de Qualcomm

The broadcast is in high definition and is only available in some specific areas of Korea.

Korea Telecom (KT) will now offer broadcasting over its LTE network. The service allows Galaxy Note 3 users to access two Olleh TV Mobile channels and live streaming content without data quota. The broadcast is in high definition and is only available in some specific areas of Korea through the “Olleh LTE Play” application from KT and Samsung.

The service platform is based on Qualcomm Technologies' LTE Broadcast Solution, which includes optimized broadcast middleware, a software development kit (SDK), and the eMBMS-enabled Qualcomm LTE Advance chipset.
The platform uses LTE infrastructure to transmit video or data to multiple clients simultaneously, allowing operators to manage their network loads to obtain high-demand content in real time.
