Peter MacAvock, en BIT Broadcast 2014

MacAvock will lead a workshop at BIT Broadcast on Tuesday the 20th, at 5 pm, in a unique opportunity to share experiences and vision of the future with one of the great gurus of the industry.

Peter MacAvock, director of the distribution and services area at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU/EBU), will travel to Madrid next week to participate in BIT Broadcast 2014, the International Audiovisual Technology Exhibition that will take place at Feria de Madrid from May 20 to 22.

Internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in digital television, MacAvock leads the team responsible for projects related to content distribution technologies, spectrum management and software platforms. Among other tasks, he is responsible for matters related to the spectrum as well as the highest level projects managed by the EBU in relation to hybrid radio and television, including HbbTv, DVB or Radio DNS.

Irish by birth, MacAvock lives and works in Switzerland. As executive director of the DVB Project, he played a decisive role in the development and implementation of the digital television standard.

From the technical department of the EBU, MacAvock plays a very active role in the standardization of DVB, DRM or ETSI standards.
