Eurocom reveals at BIT Broadcast 2014 how to tackle 'low cost' projects with innovation and quality
Planning and monitoring of the entire management process, with multidisciplinary teams and real-time information, are the vital axes for a project with a tight budget or 'low cost' to achieve success without giving up quality and innovation, as the president of the Eurocom group, Francisco Menchén, explained to the professionals at BIT Broadcast 2014.
How to integrate low cost solutions? What are the keys to carrying out projects with contained costs without giving up quality? To these complex questions, Francisco Menchén, president of the Spanish group Eurocom Broadcast, responded in his workshop at BIT Broadcast 2014, detailing to a large audience of professionals the keys that have led to the success of the projects carried out by this company.
"Integrating 'low cost' solutions does not mean reducing quality. The study of the client's real needs, prior planning with clear parameters in time and risks, specialized and coordinated teams, continuous management of the process and real-time communication allows us to do quality engineering without going over budget and minimizing errors to the maximum," Menchén explained.
A fundamental element in this complex project is, for the Eurocom manager, "team management and coordinated work with objectives, with continuous and clear communication for decision making. We must never forget that teams are made up of people, and having specialized and coordinated teams is the best way to avoid making mistakes, since the reality of a project is very stubborn and complications arise that, in this way, are resolved with minimal risk."
Menchén showed the professionals the engineering roadmap that Eurocom carries out when approaching a project, with examples of success in which quality and good planning have taken precedence over errors and upwardly diverted budgets. "We have our own software, with a detailed methodology and comprehensive 3D simulation programs to plan and advise the client on their needs and budgets, which has made us always earn their trust, have 'zero surprises' and feel proud of a 'before and after' with quality and innovation in projects carried out with very tight budgets."
Proof of this are, among many others in Eurocom's portfolio, those recently carried out in HD production systems outdoors and in mobile units; in the migration to high definition of the State Radio and Television System of Panama, or the most recent in the Telefónica transmission center in Peru.
