Recent Spanish CinemaThe Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the American Cinematheque, EGEDA and the sponsorship of the Spanish Embassy in Washington, among other Spanish and North American institutions, organize the twentieth edition of the Recent Spanish Cinema exhibition, which will take place from October 16 to 19 of this year, at the famous Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.

As in previous years, the exhibition will feature the screening of a wide selection of the most recent films and short films, representative of the Spanish film industry, and some of them recently released on the festival circuit, which will be represented by their directors and actors, who will attend the Los Angeles exhibition as ambassadors of the creation and art of our country.

Since its creation, this exhibition of Spanish cinema in the USA has been discovering great talents in our cinema, who today enjoy international projection: Jose Luis Garci, Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, Victoria Abril, Alejandro Amenábar, Alex de la Iglesia, Julio Medem, Luis Tosar, Eduardo Noriega, among many others who are already well known to the American public.

The poster, the work of DEMO

For this XX edition, we have had the collaboration of the Spanish artist DEMO, author of the promotional poster. DEMO is a multidisciplinary creator, with an unmistakable aesthetic, which has its roots in Pop art, and whose billboard creations for exhibitions and major cultural events have illustrated the facades of countless museums and art galleries around the world.

According to the author, he wanted to "wink at the logo of the exhibition, symbolizing with colored balls and loose strokes the game that is cinema, in which you never stop feeling and dreaming. A way to risk living a story. Adding the heart of all those people who make cinema their work, dedication and passion."
