Sébastien Moreau, president of Rodeo FX and effects supervisor on the series, acknowledges that "this award confirms that Montreal is one of the key sites in the visual effects industry. The tax credits offered by the government represent a great incentive for producers to carry out their work here. We also have specialized training centers where students acquire a very deep knowledge of visual effects. Some of our most talented and experienced artists come from the Center NAD and Cégep de Jonquière, where they have developed a plan of studies that really respond to the needs of the industry.”
Rodeo FX's contribution to the fourth season of Game of Thrones was considerable and spectacular. In addition to the creation of the city of Meereen, the largest of the three great city-states of Slave Bay, Rodeo FX has been responsible for generating the massive army that attacks it... a memorable and impactful scene. The Montreal studio also designed a number of grandiose environments, as well as creating a zombie-horse, modeling and animating a cavalry of thousands of riders, simulating atmospheric effects, contributing to numerous wolf sequences and much more.
