Who is who in the new Abertis?
Tobías Martínez will continue to lead Abertis Telecom, while Carlos Espídos will continue to lead the satellite operator Hispasat, whose shareholding is controlled by Abertis.
Abertis presented this Thursday to a group of about one hundred and fifty financial analysts gathered in London what the group's guidelines will be for the next three years.
The CEO of Abertis, Francisco Reynés, has assured that “Abertis has earned the trust of the market after meeting the objectives of the previous strategic plan, presented in 2010.”
The pillars of the new roadmap are focused on the objective of increasing the group's EBITDA by 8% annually at constant perimeter and exchange rate, which would close 2017 with 4,000 million euros.
In addition to an increase in operating income, Abertis is confident in the success of the second efficiency plan that accompanies the three-year strategy. The aim is to raise the gross operating performance from the current 64% to 68%, which implies the generation of 1,400 million in value thanks to new efficiencies obtained in France, Brazil and Chile.
Within the 2015-2017 Strategic Plan, the names of the managers who will give impetus to this new Abertis are outlined. Francisco Reynés will continue to captain the ship, who will have as his right hand Joan Rafel (head of human resources), José Aljaro (CFO), Josep Lluís Giménez (industrial development) and Josep María Coronas (corporate business).
Regarding the telecommunications area, few changes, since Tobías Martínez will continue to lead Abertis Telecom. Regarding Hispasat, it will be Carlos Espídos who will lead the team of the satellite operator controlled by Abertis. Hispasat has its own investment plan of 1 billion that plans to double the satellite fleet in the next four years and is looking for possible acquisitions in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
