Concha García Campoy Journalism Award

The R&D report Outrage plus exile by Antonio García Ferreras (LaSexta Columna), Mario Moros (Noticias Cuatro Fin de Semana), América Valenzuela (Ciencia al Cubo de Radio 5), Pablo Jáuregui (El Mundo), the SINC News Agency and the Communication Department of the CSIC have been awarded among more than a hundred candidates.

The award, created by the Television Academy, recognizes the excellence of professional careers or journalistic works that convey to society with rigor, ethics and commitment stories related to research, scientific dissemination or health, as was the will of Concha Garcia Campoy according to what her family and friends identified as her “oral will.”

The jury for this first Concha García Campoy Journalism Award was made up of her son Lorenzo Díaz García-Campoy, Manuel Campo Vidal (president of the Television Academy), Elsa González (president of the FAPE), Luis del Olmo (honorary president of the Radio Academy), Joan Serra (director of the Diario de Ibiza); Pepe Quílez, Fernando Navarrete and Esperanza Martín (vice presidents of the Television Academy); María Escario, Elena Sánchez, Olga Viza, Ángeles Caso and Pepe Carbajo.

The jury of the Concha García Campoy Journalism Award has chosen, among more than a hundred applications submitted, the winners in each of the categories of this first edition.

Pablo Jáuregui for his journalistic and informative work in the Science supplement of El Mundo.

RADIO

América Valenzuela for her scientific dissemination work on the Radio 5 (RNE) program Ciencia al Cubo.

TELEVISION (ex aequo)

Mario Moros for his informative treatment of health issues in Noticias Cuatro Fin de Semana.

R&D Report Outrage + Banishment of laSexta Columna by Antonio García Ferreras for his analysis of the situation of research and science in Spain.

DIGITAL PRESS

SINC news agency for its work in disseminating news specialized in science, technology, health, environment and innovation.
