Televés' participation in the Fed4Fire project has made it possible to investigate and test the new management and remote control system for television head-ends T.0X, a system based on the Internet of the future

FED4Fire HeadersTelevés is participating in the Fed4Fire program, a project with which it has had the opportunity to use one of the largest experimentation and research platforms for the Internet of the future in Europe, in order to optimize the management system and remote control of the Televés television (TV) headends.

The Fed4Fire project is funded by the Seventh Framework Program for Research and Technological Development of the European Union (FP7) and its objective is to create a software platform that provides simple tools with easy access to different types of heterogeneous infrastructures (cloud, Wi-Fi networks, radio networks, smart cities, etc.) for the research and testing of systems or products based on the Internet of the future in a simple way. All this, with the aim of obtaining products in the shortest possible time, with better quality and with less technical and economic effort.

Televés' participation in the project has made it possible to investigate and test the new management and remote control system for T.0X television head-ends, a system based on the Internet of the future. For the user, this new system will allow them to remotely control any TV headend from anywhere in the world using a mobile device (tablet, smart-phone,...) in a simple way.

A core part of Televés' business is based on offering devices responsible for broadcasting television through groups of buildings or homes. TV headends are a set of devices whose main purpose is to adapt the signal received via DTT, satellite, cable, etc., and inject said transformed signal into a building or group of buildings for consumption.

Today, the European and American market increasingly demands innovative and simple remote maintenance services using mobile devices, due to the costs involved in travel and waiting times. Televés takes on the challenge of creating a new improved version of the remote control and management system for TV headends, faster and more efficient, and with the capacity to offer its services from mobile devices.

In this new version, the central server, in which all headends are connected, has two main functionalities: the first authorizes establishing a relationship between the headends and the user, while the second allows executing the communication protocol with each headend.

The objectives of the tests that the company will carry out will be to simulate a real scenario to check if this new headend management and monitoring system can support a large number of users and headends, with the aim of optimizing current services and investigating the system's capacity for the creation of new value-added services that will be in demand in the future.
