DCI certifies Sony SRX-R515DS dual 4K projection system

Digital Cinema Initiatives has certified the SRX-R515DS dual 4K projection system to the DCI specification. Sony. In this way, all projectors in the manufacturer's 4K range meet the restrictive industry standards in relation to image quality that guarantee both operators and viewers crystal-clear, high-impact images.
David McIntosh, vice president of Sony Digital Cinema 4K Solutions in Europe and the Americas, says he is proud to "offer our operator customers a complete family of Sony DCI-compliant projectors to suit all types of cinemas, including the next big wave of premium large format screens. The SRX-R515DS caused an incredible reaction last month at the CineEurope show in Barcelona. The clearer feedback we are receiving from European operators reflects the importance of image quality as authentic differentiating factor for your business, especially in the rapidly growing PLF segment where the DCI certification of the SRX-R515DS system offers a truly attractive proposition.
Alta calidad de imagen en 4K
The SRX-R515DS system uses high-pressure mercury lamp arrays in both projectors for premium large format (PLF) displays. It combines two Sony SRX-R515 projectors and provides reference lighting levels for 2D presentations on screens up to 19.5 meters for white screen operation with 1.8 gain or 3D presentations on screens up to 23 meters for silver screen operation with 2.4 gain (depending on installation conditions). On smaller screens, the system offers great flexibility in light output for all those rooms that want to project 3D images beyond current lighting standards.
Given the high 8000:1 contrast ratio of the SRX-R515 projector head, the SRX-R515DS ensures the highest possible image quality with rich, intense blacks and radiant highlights.
Setting up for 2D or 3D presentations between projections only requires the addition of static 3D polarizing filters to each projector. Unlike “triple flash” solutions, left and right eye images are projected continuously for natural, fluid and comfortable 3D projections.
The pair of projectors can operate “side by side” or be aligned vertically, so that they adapt to any projection booth. Setup is quick and easy, thanks to the included automatic alignment system that optimizes the convergence of the two projectors.
