RTVE reaffirms its commitment to Spanish cinema with the financing of more than 60 new projects

TVE ha emitido en el último año el 90,4% del cine español visto en televisión. La 1 y La 2 han ofrecido 358 títulos, 80 más que el año anterior y la cifra más alta de las últimas 8 temporadas.

RTVE ha comprometido este año su participación en más de 60 proyectos audiovisuales entre cine, documentales y tv movies, y ha dado un paso más en su apoyo al cine español con la coproducción de dos largometrajes, La corona partida y Spain in a day. Support for Spanish cinema also makes TVE its best screen. It is the chain that has broadcast the most titles, 358, compared to a total of 38 broadcast by the other general chains. This is the highest figure in eight seasons and represents 90.4% of the total Spanish cinema seen on television this year.

At the press conference held at the San Sebastián Festival, the director of TVE, José Ramón Díez, pointed out that more than supporting cinema he likes to talk about "commitment to Spanish cinema. Spanish Television is decidedly committed to Spanish cinema. The Corporation's commitment is to the entire audiovisual industry of which we are very proud and satisfied, and we will continue working on this link between TVE and Spanish cinema." Díez has also advanced the investment figure, which will be around 22-25 million euros in film and documentary projects.

El director de Cine y Ficción, Fernando López-Puig, ha añadido además que como parte de este compromiso, en la cadena pública se apoya al cine “en todos sus pasos desde la financiación a la promoción, queremos estar en todas las facetas de la producción de una película” y como ha señalado, en TVE “somos importantes para la industria pero la industria también es importante para Televisión Española” y ha avanzado que TVE tiene este año un proyecto importante, en relación a Spain in a Day.

Televisión Española sigue además abriendo nuevas ventanas al cine, la última de ellas a través de History of our cinema, which has 100 programs, as recalled by its coordinator Luis E. Coproduces two films and participates in more than 30

A lo largo de 2015 TVE da un paso más en su apoyo al cine español con la coproducción de dos largometrajes: La corona partida, de Jordi Frades, la película que enlazará en el cine las series históricas Isabel y Charles King Emperor, y Spain in a day, de Isabel Coixet, la historia de un día entero en España rodada por los propios españoles. Basada en el proyecto Life in a day, de Ridley Scott, será un proyecto colectivo en el que las redes sociales jugarán un papel fundamental. La fecha elegida para el rodaje será el próximo 24 de octubre. Está previsto su preestreno en el Festival de San Sebastián de 2016.

TVE has broadcast 358 films

En su apoyo al cine español, TVE es también un año más su mayor escaparate. La 1 y La 2 han sido las cadenas que más películas españolas han programado en el último año, con un total de 358 títulos, 80 más que el año anterior: El incremento se produce en las dos cadenas, con 153 películas españolas en La 1 y 205, en La 2. La cifra representa el 90,4% de todo el cine español emitido en las cadenas generalistas en abierto. Es la temporada que más títulos se han emitido desde hace ocho. En La 2 desde esta temporada, los pases se han programado todos los días de la semana.

Most of the titles were broadcast in prime time, with 192 films, almost double that of the previous season. It is almost 93% of all national cinema broadcast during this time. La 2 is once again a benchmark for Spanish cinema in prime time with the highest number of feature films broadcast, 148 in total, 85 films more than in the previous season.

Forty million viewers have at some point contacted Spanish cinema on TVE. On La 1, the most viewed film has been Red Eagle. The Movie, with almost 3.6 million (20.6%), while Carmina or burst ha sido la película española más vista en La 2. Lo fue en su estreno la temporada anterior y lo ha sido en su segundo pase en esta temporada; 1,2 millones y 6.2%.

El promedio de audiencia de cine español en La 1 es de un 8,6% de cuota, medio punto más que la temporada anterior; y de un 2,8% en La 2, cifra también ligeramente superior a hace un año.

TVE sigue además promocionando en sus pantallas el cine español, con 32 títulos en esta temporada, frente a los 23 de la anterior, bajo el epígrafe Somos cine.

Documentaries

En 2015, TVE participa en 25 proyectos documentales muy diversos. Destacan Mugaritz, campo a través, que se ha estrenado durante el Festival de San Sebastián; The unknown battle, about the Wolfram exploitations in Galicia during World War II, a film that complements the film dirty wolves from TVE; Pope Luna, 600 years without rest, a 4K production about the mystery of the theft of the skull of this Aragonese pope that caused one of the most important schisms in the Catholic Church; Dream songs,a nostalgic and reflective look at what the hippy movement meant in Spain; and Cyborgs among us, a documentary about robotics applied to humans.
