'El Chef del Mar' returns to TVE with new episodes
The successful series by chef Ángel León, produced by Media Media, is the first recorded in Spain in Ultra High Definition.
The documentary series The Chef of the Sea, the first recorded in Spain in Ultra High Definition 4K, returns to La1 on TVE with four new episodes in which chef Ángel León (with two Michelin stars) continues touring the Spanish coasts and cooking with his very personal style what he himself catches in the sea.
The episode that is broadcast this December 1, after MasterChef Junior, is dedicated to the world of canned fish. To do this, Ángel León travels to Isla Cristina, a fishing town in the province of Huelva, with the most important fishing port in Andalusia and one of the most important in Spain. There, and at sunset, you will board a purse seine boat to fish for anchovies in the middle of the night.
The Chef of the Sea is a series of 13 50-minute episodes in which chef Ángel León discovers all the secrets of cooking made with seafood. Last July he revealed to the audience of Spanish Television's La1 the Traditional Fishing of the North, the famous Tuna Fishing in the Strait of Gibraltar, the Estero Fishing in Doñana, among others, accompanied by some of the most renowned chefs in Spain such as José María Arzak, Andoni Luis Aduriz or Quique Dacosta or Pepe Solla. He also gave an up-close look at sea products such as algae, plankton, hake and other “unknowns of the sea”, with which he made recipes that surprised colleagues and spectators.
In the new chapters we will continue discovering the Spanish coasts and seas, with the help of great chefs like Ferrán Adriá, by land, sea and air. The spectacular images recorded in Ultra High Definition (4K) capture in all their fullness the beauty of the seas of Spain and the never-before-seen details of the marine species that we discover every week. The Chef of the Sea.
This Medina Media production has been selected by Sony as one of the best productions worldwide in 4K Ultra High Definition and was screened in the demo reel show that the multinational organized at the largest international content fair, MIPTV in Cannes last April.
