Ikegami anticipates its new 4K UHK-430 camera
The new UHK-430 camera, which opens Ikegami's new range of Unicam XE 4K solutions, is designed in two independent blocks and features three 2/3-inch native 4K CMOS sensors.
Two months before NAB 2016 and coinciding with CABSAT 2016, Ikegami has decided to reveal what will be its great commitment to attracting ENG in Ultra Definition. The new UHK-430 camera opens the company's new range of 4K Unicam XE solutions.
It uses three 2/3-inch native 4K CMOS sensors that provide a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (Ultra High Definition), and a greater depth of field for both studio and outdoor productions.
The camera is equipped with a B4 bayonet for mounting 2/3-inch high-definition lenses.
Additionally, the optional SE-U430 expansion device will accommodate large studio lenses.
Its two-block construction allows the UK-430's sensor head and lens to be separated as a compact unit for easy deployment on supporting devices such as hand controls. In this mode, the head can operate 50 meters from the camera body. The head can also be replaced with other assemblies, such as a large Super 35mm sensor.
The camera includes 12G CCU and IP outputs, as well as a new Ikegami processor that enables uncompressed streaming at 40 gigabit/s.
Masanori Kondo, president of Ikegami Europe, highlights that "the UHK-430 is one of the most important developments in our product range in recent years. It allows very high quality UHD and production with a wide dynamic range, while at the same time facilitating easy interaction with current high definition systems. The high frame rate option will be especially appreciated by mobile production companies, as it provides easy access to slow motion."
Ikegami's new proposal weighs just 4.5 kilos and has a 2-inch viewfinder. The new processor allows the UHK-430 to offer a 16-axis color matrix and BT.2020 color space.
CCU-430
As for the control unit (model CCU-430), it is a compact 3U unit and weighs 18.5 kilos. It offers switchable 4 x 3G-SDI 4K output as well as HD output. An optional card allows you to work with 4K, HD video and both resolutions at the same time.
An SE-U430 extender system will allow the use of a large studio viewfinder and lens. The camera also has a Gigabit Ethernet data port to enable network control.
It also integrates Ikegami's new iLog development which can be used to achieve high contrast to handle a wide dynamic range. Based on logarithmic gamma processing, greater image information is achieved, significantly improving its quality.
