Effective combination of audiovisual production and mapping in the video clip of the favorite song at Eurovision 2016

Russian singer Sergey Lazarev jumps to first place in all pools ahead of the next Eurovision Song Contest. Much of this success is due to an impressive video clip produced by Sever with Illuminarium mapping.

Russia is the favorite in all the pools to achieve first place in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Although there are still some countries yet to make their candidates public, Eurofans have opted for the Russian Sergey Lazarev. Much of this success is due to an impressive video clip in which mapping plays a key role.

The song with which the Russian network RTR will participate in the festival is titled You are the only one and in addition to leading the bets, it is sweeping these days on YouTube. The pop song was composed by Philip Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos, the creator of other Eurovision hits such as Hold Me de Farid Mammadov, This is Our Night de Sakis Rouvas o Shady Lady by Ani Lorak.

In the video clip, Lazarev, accompanied by Vladislava Evtushen, Miss Universe Russia 2015, has choreographed his movements with projection mapping, resulting in a very effective three-dimensional set.

The production of this video clip, shot with a camera ARRI Alexa, has been run by Sever, a Moscow-based production company for which Russia's most relevant directors and cinematographers work. Their projects stand out for the use of innovative technical solutions and brilliant creative ideas.

The design and execution of the mapping, with five projectors Barco HDX-W20, is the work of Illuminator, a Russian company based in Saint Petersburg that stands out for the original presentations on buildings that they have carried out in cities such as Moscow, Yekaterinburg, London, Dubai or Saint Petersburg itself.

Lazarev's performance, which is reminiscent of last year's winner, the Swede Måns Zelmerlöw, for the use of mapping, will be seen for the first time on the stage of the Globen Arena in Stockholm on May 10 during the first semi-final.
