The Professional Audiovisual Technology Show is calling for a mini short film contest to recognize and encourage the talent of new professionals joining the sector.

BIT Shooting Star

With the aim of recognizing and encouraging emerging talent in audiovisual communication among new professionals joining the sector, the next edition of the Professional Audiovisual Technology Show, BIT 2016, organized by IFEMA from May 24 to 26 at Feria de Madrid, calls for the first edition of the BIT Shooting Star Award.

This is a contest of original mini short films, with free registration, in which students or groups of students who are currently enrolled or who have recently completed their studies (classes of 2014 or 2015) linked to audiovisual communication, in a training center in Spain - Film School, University, Vocational Training Center - may participate.

Each participating person or group may present a single unpublished mini-short film of a maximum duration of 8 minutes, on the plot Push limits, the same theme that this year's BIT 2016 claim refers to, and which invites contestants to freely develop this idea in relation to any area that refers to improvement (sports, personal development, technology, roles, clichés, borders, impediments...).

The prize is worth 2,000 euros and all the selected mini-short films will receive, like the winner, a return in visibility thanks to the different communication actions carried out by the fair, in the media and social networks. A second prize is also established for the most popular nominated mini-short.

The contestant must register here and complete a simple registration form and upload the video in HD (1920×1080) in .MOV or .MP4 format and H264 codec, with a bitrate of between 8 and 15 Mbs. The registration period ends on May 15, 2016.

A jury appointed by the organization will choose the mini-short films nominated for the BIT Shooting Star Award, from which the final winner will be selected, based on criteria of workmanship and creativity. The results of the nominations and winner will be made public through the social networks of the BIT fair before May 24, 2016, and the Award ceremony will take place within the framework of the Fair from May 24 to 26, 2016.

Access to participation bases.
