Ooyala introduces Ooyala Flex, a solution that helps media outlets, studios, advertisers and brands modernize their video production workflows. This solution, formerly known as MioEverywhere, is now available within Ooyala's suite of video delivery and monetization products.

Ooyala now offers premium video providers a complete set of solutions for the production, delivery, analysis and monetization of video from its creation to its arrival on screens. Thanks to Ooyala Flex, the company adds to its offer a proven solution that harmonizes workflows for the production and distribution of audiovisual content.

Ooyala Flex increases the efficiency of video production teams, which work around the clock to create and make content available to an audience that is increasingly fragmented across platforms, formats and devices, and where video production has moved from proprietary systems to online workflows. This modular and flexible solution connects teams that until now worked in isolation and with technologies not integrated into video production. The result is a unified, efficient and collaborative environment that accelerates content production and distribution while reducing costs.

Belsasar Lepe, co-founder and Senior Vice President of Products and Solutions at Ooyala, highlights that “production studios and production companies use a large number of manual and analog processes that are impossible to scale and align with the pace of demand for premium content that we find today on different platforms and devices.”

“Ooyala Flex brings video production into the digital era by unifying isolated equipment and technologies to achieve agile and cohesive workflows, helping production teams create and distribute content to their audiences more quickly,” adds Lepe.

Customizable solution

This solution is fully customizable and integrable with the production technology already used by any company. In addition, it offers a single source of information throughout the entire production chain, including those responsible for it. Ooyala Flex can mirror any team's workflow, helping them identify and resolve problems, increasing process visibility, and providing data on all aspects of the operation. All of this allows you to optimize flows and costs and identify new ways to improve the production process.

The Flex

Integration

This solution brings together workflows, asset management and analytics beyond what a basic media asset manager (MAM) would do. Ooyala Flex can be integrated with the company's existing technology, proprietary or in the cloud. It is not necessary to discard current infrastructures or processes as this solution connects isolated systems or tools, and the data they contain, to achieve a uniform and well-tuned architecture.

Ooyala Flex can integrate with storage, decoding, QA, and delivery solutions from companies such as Amberfin, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Elemental, Harmonic, Interra, and Telestream. In addition, it includes plug-ins with production tools such as Adobe Premiere and Adobe Prelude. In this way, it allows you to orchestrate workflows and data from other companies' tools.

These integrations are particularly useful for automating notifications for downstream teams, project managers, and executives. Ooyala Flex allows you to bring all the metadata and comments to each computer without the user having to register in different systems or close a specific tool, such as editing software.

Martyn Suker, director of production innovations at ITV Studios.
"Ooyala Flex has helped us transform our workflow as production demand grows. In fact, our research shows that we have reduced costs and improved visibility and control over data and production processes. Collaboration and continuity of data throughout the entire workflow helps reduce risks, a key concern for the company both to avoid human errors and to maintain our competitiveness in an industry that constantly evolves."

Modernize workflows

Carl Hibbert, Futuresource Associate Director of Media and Entertainment, maintains that "one of the biggest challenges we encounter when modernizing the premium video production workflow today is the difficulty of integrating existing, disparate systems in which providers have already made a significant investment. Solutions that can help solve this problem will improve efficiency and reduce costs significantly."

For his part, Daniel Gadher, analyst at Ampere Analysis, understands that "content production is a very complex process that involves multiple tools, tasks and equipment, all of them generating important data. Therefore, having solid workflow tools and consistent metadata is essential to control costs and efficiency."
