Dolby and Jaunt launch the first cinematic virtual reality portal
The integration of Dolby Atmos technology in the Jaunt VR app will allow users to enjoy an even more realistic experience.
Dolby y Jaunt, a company specialized in cinematographic virtual reality (VR), have launched the first portal dedicated to VR content, which includes titles with Dolby Atmos sound technology to increase the sensation of realism in the viewer within the Jaunt VR app.
He portal Dolby Atmos will allow viewers to easily access all the virtual reality experiences that integrate Dolby Atmos available in the Jaunt VR app. To enjoy Dolby Atmos titles, users can download the Jaunt VR app for iOS, Android, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, or HTC Vive and play them using a stereo headset. Some of the titles available on the Dolby Atmos portal at launch are Paul McCartney: Live and Let Die, Jack White: Ball & Biscuit, Jack White: Freedom at 21, Revolt: Big Sean, la serie documental Pure McCartney VR, Black Mass, Rapid Fire: A Brief History of Flight, Earth Encounter, Collisions, the documentary series North Face, Zombie Purge, Time Bubble, Other Space, Visions of California and many more.
As part of the launch, Jaunt will debut Mull of Kintyre in Dolby Atmos, the latest episode of the six-part documentary series Pure McCartney VR. Mull of Kintyre transports fans and viewers into the world of Paul McCartney as he recounts his moments of inspiration and the stories behind the 1977 hit of the same name. The song has been digitally remastered with Dolby Atmos by original engineer Geoff Emerick, creating a spatially oriented sound that incorporates head tracking.
Cliff Plumer, president of Jaunt Studios, highlights that "over the last twelve months, we have been working closely with Dolby and leading filmmakers, musicians and brands to create a library of titles in theaters that benefit from Dolby Atmos technology. We truly believe that high-quality surround sound represents more than half of the experience in virtual reality. The Jaunt ONE camera and Jaunt Cloud Services are now available for rent, giving everyone the ability to record, edit and distribute high-quality, multi-sensory cinematic VR experiences powered by Dolby Atmos. Now, with the support of Dolby Atmos, VR content creators will be able to take advantage of the entire Jaunt platform to deliver immersive stories with accurate spatial sound, in addition to being able to deliver them to audiences around the world.
