Rodages in Andalusia reach a record in 2015 and generate almost one hundred million euros and more than 16,000 jobs.

This Monday, the Andalusia Film Commission (AFC) has presented the 2015 activity and filming memory before the Council of Patrons chaired by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Francisco Javier Fernández; the president of the Andalusia Film Commission, Carlos Rosado Cobián; and the president of Canal Sur Radio y Televisión, Joaquín Durán at the headquarters of the Andalusian Radio.

The results of the report show the dynamism and competitiveness of the industry in Andalusia and the success of AFC in its eighteen years of history.

Andalusia Film Commission is the oldest shooting office in Spain with an infrastructure created to support companies and professionals in the audiovisual industry. Likewise, the creation of the Andalusian film cities network has had a key role in the offer and diversity of filming that last year 2015 has registered its best figure with 1,210 productions, which already total 12,626 since the creation of this commission in 1998.

The evolution of 2015 shows that Andalusia has already consolidated an audiovisual industry that has contributed in 2015 to the economy of the 97,914,404 euros region and given employment to 16,699 professionals.

It is important to highlight the decisive impact of national and international television series, as well as the recovery of the sector in Almería. On the other hand, the dissemination achieved thanks to the support, among other institutions, of the Ministry of Tourism, have led to an important international media impact.

In fact, the decisive support of the RTVA since the creation of the Commission has more easily disseminated the Andalusian productions in the national market, giving a name to the Andalusian shooting industry.

Finally, the commission announced that the Diputación de Jaén and the Diputación de Cádiz have recently been incorporated into the network and the headquarters have been created in Guadix, Écija, Palma del Río, San Fernando and Cazalla de la Sierra, thus demonstrating that they are key to the development of the sector in Andalusia.
