Andalusia now hosts more than 1,200 filmings a year
Filming in Andalusia reached a record number in 2015 and generated almost one hundred million euros and more than 16,000 jobs.
This Monday, the Andalusia Film Commission (AFC) presented the 2015 activity and filming report to the Council of Trustees chaired by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Francisco Javier Fernández; the president of the Andalusia Film Commission, Carlos Rosado Cobián; and the president of Canal Sur Radio and Television, Joaquín Durán at the headquarters of the Andalusian radio and television station.
It is important to highlight the decisive impact of national and international television series, as well as the recovery of the sector in Almería. On the other hand, the dissemination achieved thanks to the support, among other institutions, of the Ministry of Tourism has led to significant international media coverage.
In fact, the decisive support of the RTVA since the creation of the commission has managed to disseminate Andalusian productions more easily in the national market, giving a name to the Andalusian filming industry.
Finally, the commission announced that the Provincial Council of Jaén and the Provincial Council of Cádiz have recently joined the network as patrons and offices have been created in Guadix, Écija, Palma del Río, San Fernando and Cazalla de la Sierra, thus demonstrating that they are key to the development of the sector in Andalusia.
